Серцево-судинні захворювання традиційно розглядають як хвороби чоловіків середнього віку, що часто призводить до недооцінки їх ризику у жінок, як самими пацієнтками, так і лікарями. Більшість рекомендацій, що застосовуються до жінок, засновані на даних, отриманих від осіб чоловічої статі. У цьому огляді описано основні гендерні відмінності щодо факторів ризику, перебігу основних кардіальних патологій та впливу на них депресії й тривоги.
